IMO those who think there should be army installations named after Braxton Bragg are ignorant of history.
Bragg was a slaveowner who committed treason by joining the Confederacy. As a general he was a total failure. He lost nearly every battle he engaged in, and even when he won his forces took such huge losses it ensured future failure. He was notorious for being hated by his troops, the North and the South. His incompetence and meanspiritedness continued after the Civil War as he failed spectacularly in every business venture he attempted.
Renaming Fort Bragg isn't an example of wokeness, it's an example of the Army coming to its senses by not honoring a treasonous fool.
